Floating Citadel of Nimbus

The Citadel of Nimbus is one of the great old floating castles of the giant dynasts. Built atop a massive earthberg that drifts through the sky, it is constantly obscured by thick dark stormclouds; however, the winds spiral around the central fortress, keeping the weather relatively calm there, except when the master of the citadel wishes otherwise. The citadel is ruled by one of the last living giant dynasts: they go by Lord Thruun (he/him) or Lady Thruuda (she/her) depending on the day.

The giant dynast’s citadel contains many treasures accumulated from the ancient past and still more plundered in more recent history. The dynast’s cruelty also makes their home a morally fair target from which the Fellowship may “liberate” magical treasures that could help in their struggles against the Overlord. Some possibilities include:

• A sample of the Overlord’s one Weakness.
• A Source of Power that the Overlord has seized, with or without the dynast’s knowledge.
• A powerful magic item that could assist in ancillary ways—pick a Fellowship Move from any appropriate people.
• The Citadel is also a Source of Power in itself, which is how the dynast controls the storm around it. The Overlord or the Fellowship may seek to seize it.
